Would. Would so hard.
Maybe this could be the Club Ecto 1 exclusive?
I don’t think it is the exclusive because they said it would be a figure and the $20 charge for the club covers it.
I must have it!
Does it have lights/sound?
It’s not the exclusive – that will be a figure and will be announced Friday.
And it does have light and sound (and moving arms)
Sweet Jebus man! This is the best news for prop fans EVER!
what im worried about is that it doesnt seem like it has wing lights. It just looks like its plastic. hopefully thats not the case.
Awesome news! I’ll be really happy if they end up making a nice Pack replica for $500 or less.
Quick hands on report:
All four buttons are functional. One raises wings, one descends. Holding both at the same time changes the pattern in which the lights flash (Mattel rep said that the sound changes from the first movie to the second movie which, damned if I could hear on the floor nor do I remember the sound effect being different?). The LED green read out screen cycles pretty accurately to the film.
Pretty heavy plastic, although it’s a prototype.
Pure joy. Just saying.
Jace – Yes, it does have wing lights. As does it have blinking lights on the control interfaces, and the green cycling LED.
and yes it is plastic , its 50 bucks , what do you expect?
I will buy so many of them.
Somebody at Comicon with a decent smartphone record some bloody video please! (Assuming the prototype is a working prototype)
ooooohhhhh…mmmmmYYYYY…GGGGGOOOOODDDDD !!!!! Other than that… I have nothing further and will *bow down on my hands and knees to the God’s at MATTEL!*
The GB line has to be selling SSSUUUPPPEEERRR well for them to do something of this scale… no pun intended.
So many questions right now… Did they have access to the original to get the prop paint, dimensions, etc.? Did they get the light sequencing on the arms correct?….. I could go on forever!
I’m sure, for many, if not ALL of us… this is a childhood dream REALISED !!!!!
@ Ryan W LeClair
HAHAHAHAHA! my thoughts exactly!
While I always thought the RGB PKE meter was cooler…. this is still a must have.
When I think of all the money I (and many others) pissed away to try and get a PKE meter…..to see one for $50 with lights and sound. Hot diggity damn that hurts. Mine looks like somebody swallowed a bunch of plastic and crapped out a prop. This is amazing.
While I always thought the RGB PKE meter was cooler…. this is still a must have.
Seconded on both counts.
MUST… HAVE… IT… !!!
I got to have this!! must MUST!!
want.need.buy.
Terrific! Great news. Except for those of us planning to be Ghostbusters for Hallowe’en. D’oh – Mattel!!
Yeah you’d think they’d cash in before Halloween! Maybe, and hopefully they will change there minds. I want one!
I can’t wait to order as many as possible. Too bad we’ll been waiting 16-17 Months
Holly mother of Gozer, WOW!!
I’m excited, but must add… is this thing really going to be purple or is this just a color misrep from the photos? Why not black? If it is supposed to be a replica, shouldn’t it… oh, I don’t know… replicate the prop used in the movies? Feedback appreciated.
Just saw the posted video in the most recent article. The PKE meter is clearly in its authentic colors. Doubt now subsided. Commence drooling!

Two comments: 1.) The PKE is absolutely amazing. 2.) The GB2 Venkman headsculpt looks WAY better!
oh-my-GAWD!!!!
Oh boy. This my third comment today. I must be excited. Quick question for anybody regarding the release date of the PKE Meter. The headline indicates Christmas of 2011, and yet in the article it suggests a release for the 2010 holidays. So my question is, am I waiting a few months or many months.
Cheers.

As much as I would love to have this and any future GB props.. This PKE Meter doesn’t look as thin as the one in the movie. I just made a trip over to GBprops.com to see if I was correct(cuz you know they’ll make their props as screen accurate as possible), and yeah.. This prop does look a little ‘chubby’ in the area where the wings collapse into.
SilverExpress57>> What your seeing is an optical “illusion” of sorts. The naked-eye always lies when viewing objects on film and/or photo. The original prop is built off an Iona shoe polisher. And trust me, it is that thick. Or as you call it “chubby”. And so is the prop. It’s widely common knowledge that the PKE was built from that certain shoe polisher. When looking at it, it’s quite obvious. And there’s no-doubt that Matty knows/realizes this easily found bit of information and got ahold of an original Iona polisher for reference. I’d bet money on it. Helk, I’d be double that they got ahold of the original prop themselve’s while building their prototype. There’s no doubt in my mind that that’s the case here. They didn’t miss a detail. Not even the switch on the bottom of the handle to turn the meter on and off, as well as the “plug hole” next to that switch to recharge the meter. Just as the original prop did. It used 4 rechargable “AA” battery’s in the handle. All of which is not shown in the films, but is on the prop itself. Rest easy, SilverExpress57, and everyone else. It’s all there.
wtf what about the giga-meter??
I GOT 1 1 18!!!!
