Nomadixxx’s great Flickr gallery revealed some amazing details of the soon to be released (August 16th) 12″ Movie Masters Winston Zeddemore – besides an amazing looking, 1984 era Ernie Hudson, the figure comes with a pair of ungloved hands, a newspaper with the Ghostbusters job-listing circled, AND the very, very strange blueprints for the structural ironwork for Dana’s apartment building!
And as a bonus, the display confirms that Ray, Peter, and Egon will be re-released at a date to be decided! Whoo!

Re-released? That’s great, except for the collectors among us. That can’t be good for the value of the first released 12″ figures.
Blueprints look like the actual ones they used for the apartment set [as seen in Don Shay's "Making Ghostbusters"]

Well shite. If I knew they were gonna rerelease ‘em, I wouldn’t have bought multiples the first time. Looks like I’ll be lowering my qty in the future.
My gut tells me that rereleases would be different, maybe in packaging or accessories.
I feel the same…
Honestly, releasing 2nd editions of the 12″ line can only help the first wave. Normally, be it comics or toys, second editions tend to have variants in packaging and/or contents. That lends for collectors to desire the originals even more.
Honestly, I was only able to get my hands on the 12″ Egon and gladly welcome a chance to get a Ray or Peter without having to fork over $150+ on eBay.
its good for all of us who want to have figures out of the box for display.
I couldn’t disagree more. While I see the reasoning for people’s points-of-view as far as the value of their figures because of a re-release… let’s not be selfish. Besides- it’s not like the value of these figures (although I’m sure will be high down the road) will ever hit and carry such a value where you can quit your full-time job and live very comfortably in the Carribean, after selling them. It’s twofold… First, it makes excellent business sense on Matty’s part. Their Ghostbusters line is so hot, they know for a fact (just like we do), that the re-release of these figures means BIG $$$. Either from the fans who missed out the first time-(such as I), re-sellers, for further store stock, and other figure and Ghostbusters fans who already have them, but want more. The second reason… just plain ol’ selfish-ness on my part. As, like I’ve already stated, I missed out on the 12″ figs the first time because of the lack of funds. Sucks paying rent, utilities, car insurance, for food and medical bills. Wouldn’t everyone agree? And don’t miss the biggest point… even though the line is hot, and still fairly brand new… re-releasing these figures keeps the momentum going: keeping the name and offering’s of the line in continued circulation so it continues to be popular. And detracts from having some fans and collectors upset from not being able to get that certain fig at the time of sale, before it was sold out! Yes… the overall of your fig may go down. But by how much? And don’t we all win in the end, with Matty doing these strategy’s, to keep the fans happy, and the public continuely aware? In return: keeping the line going longer? Now that’s TEN-FOLD more value than any one figure.
great, now all we need is some 12 inch ghosts to bust.
!2 Inch Vigo Please.
@Ryan W LeClair I agree to a point. The line will die quickly if people can’t buy the four Ghostbusters.
I agree with ryan. It gives people who missed out a chance to get the figures again . Being from the uk this makes me very happy as they are pretty much impossible to get over here without paying a ridiculous price on ebay ect. I was contemplating paying a large chunk of change to get my mitts on them but common sense prevailed as i hoped a re-release was on the cards. Look at it this way though, those of you who have already collected the full set have first edition figures which may or may not being more valuable than later editions (as is the case with certain collectables)
If the new accessories they’re showing are any indication (see the new post) it looks like the figures won’t be re-released so much as re-issued with new stuff. So, the initial figures remain distinct for the collectors, while the new figs are attractive to collectors and fans that what a set of the boys alike.
