This is the shorter version of the TV commerical – here’s Ryan LeClair’s description of the longer commercial running on Cartoon Network;
it starts with the Ectomobile from the game (Ecto-1B) rolling up next to a house. While someone with a “green glowing arm” (Slimer) sits in a chair with his hand on the remote. He’s watching the ad of the three GB’s from the start of the video game on his TV. The door busts open, and we see a silhouete of a GB w/ a pack. Probably the player’s character. He pulls his Proton Gun, a few shots of the game ensues and Slimer fly’s at the screen, sliming it, revealing the GB game cover art for the PC, 360 and PS3.
[UPDATE] The longer video is on YouTube now.
Big thanks to Matthew for both video links!

Does Ernie Hudson ever age? I mean wow – he looks great.
Good ad but the visuals are a bit of a mish mash between in game graphics, cut scenes and the pre rendered graphics of slimer.
Ha, nice.
I love these interviews with the actors – Ernie Hudson is just an awesome dude. He’s really been great at rallying for the continuation of the Ghostbusters mythos. I doubt we’ll ever see a sit-down interview like this with Bill Murray.
How is it that Ernie looks the same as he did in 89? HE HAS THE SECRET! haha.
I love how they intercut Wintson’s big twinkie line. It really shows you how little he’s changed. Just incredible.
He looks to be in better shape now than 25 years ago. He should just stand outside of game stores and tell people to buy this game or he’ll beat the crap out of them.
I met Ernie Hudson last year and he seriously looks no different than he has since the original. Ok, maybe slightly different, but he’s ripped as hell and should in no way “retire” as a Ghostbuster. I swear, all this talk about the Ghostbusters being too old is because Bill Murray has white hair now. Boohoo, he can die it if it bothers anybody so much.
i bet that when harold, dan and bill took a look at ernie they were probably saying to themselves just what did this guy do to stay the same as he did back in the 80’s.
JUST GOT A PHONE CALL FROM DAN AKROYD TELLING ME I CAN PICK UP MY RESERVED COPY OF THE GAME AT 10 ON MONDAY AT MY LOCAL GAMESTOP!!! Okay. Sorry. I was just really excited.
That was my thought; Ernie Hudson aged well. Best out of any of the busters, Dan Aykroyd being second. That said, I’m so psyched. Can’t wait!
Ha…that’s right. I forgot about the part with Slimer getting sucked into the television like a trap. I also got the call from Dan Aykroyd about the Monday 10-12pm release. But my local GameStop is havinga midnight release party. I’m shooting straight up their after work. Yee-Haw!!!
omagosh me too i got the same call frome Dan Aykroid tooo!!!! thats awsome!!!! wooohooo!!!! and also my gamestop is having the release party too yeah!!!!!! am so their lol!!!
I saw a single ad for the game this past Saturday night (June 13th) at 8:57 PM EST on Nickelodeon. It was for the Wii version, and at the end it said “available now” (whoops!). The ad shows a kid playing the game against Slimer when a GB in silhouette walks in. The Wii box on the TV opens up and sucks the little spud in like a ghost trap.
It only aired that one time, and I didn’t see it again since.
Ernie Hudson is a legend, great to see how enthusiastic he is still is about the franchise, met him a few years ago, one of the nicest human beings on this planet!
