Mattel sells Vinz, will reveal next GB prop at SDCC, Stay-Puft a possibility.

Matty Collector began selling their Vinz Clortho 6″ figure (complete with interchangeable “possessed” and “science experiment” heads, and a Terror Dog mask – it’s a stone terror dog helmet, really), March’s official Club Ecto-1 figure.

As well, they’ve released a series of Ask Matty Q&A’s to a number of sites, which revealed the following;

– The next GB prop will be revealed at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con this Summer. Any guesses? This will be their main revealing for all lines this year, with small cons getting one or two figs.

– They are very interested in making a Mr. Stay-Puft, but there are practical considerations involved, and not a question of sales for the Ghostbusters line.

Photos of Mattel display at NYTF 2011 (75+! and video) [UPDATE]

[UPDATE] Video! With a nice look at the tri-pod trap used at the Orrefors bust in Ghostbusters 2.

[UPDATE] Toy Ark has posted some pictures from the Mattel booth as well – particularly nice are the pics of the Winston/Venkman 12″ figs.

ActionFigs.com has posted three pages of pics from the Mattel display at the 2011 New York Toy Fair, while Toy News International has 22 pics of their own. ActionFigs has some nice pics, but I think TNI has the clearer pics.

Today Mattel was showing off;

Mattel has been talking about some special news tomorrow, Monday, so stay tuned. I’m posting a very small selection of pictures here – be sure to check out the gallery links above for all of today’s Mattel Ghostbusters pics.

Mattel explains delay of Slime-blower Winston. Art Asylum consider Trap bank.

In today’s Ask Matty, Mattel cuts to the quick about the mysteriously delayed Slime-blower Winston. Collectors rejoice, it was to make him more movie accurate;

1.) You recently announced that the Winston w/ Slime Blower was delayed. Is there any chance the delay is because you’re adding the “football pads” part of his outfit?

He is delayed to make him more accurate to the film. He will have the full vest and pads when released.

Thanks to T16skyhopp for the heads up.

In unrelated news, Art Asylum has expressed serious interest in creating a ghost-trap piggy bank to join their growing line of Ghostbusters theme piggy banks. One can only assume that means all the other banks have sold very well for them.
