Art Asylum shows off new Minimates 4 pack – SDCC / TRU exclusive?

Art Asylum has posted pictures of their upcoming Ghostbusters Minimates four-pack – these are the figures that were seen at the 2010 New York Toy Fair.

Surprisingly not included are all the accessories seen at Toy Fair – the set includes a PKE meter and “lab coat”, though it looks a lot like the blue coat Dana wears when she first visits the firehall. Both of these were seen in the Toy Fair picture, but now all the other cool accessories are gone – no spectral analyser, no sniffer, no stethoscope or video camera (with shoulder slung recorder.) Looking at the package, it’s hard to imagine where they’d go anyhow.

Officially called the We’re Ready To Believe You! Box Set (no series number given) the pack sports a San Diego Comic Con logo and Toys R Us Exclusive foil stamp. The only way to interpret this is that the set will initially be made available at SDCC this year, and then sold exclusively through Toys R Us afterwards – stay tuned in case that changes.

From Art Asylum;

Art Asylum shows off TRU Minimates boxes – OMG, Janosz has a party hat!

Art Asylum have done their usual awesome thing and posted front and side and back pics of their upcoming Ghostbusters Minimates two-packs. Already a strong line-up of figures, the series just got awesomer, at least to me…

Janosz comes with a Happy New Year party hair accessory, just like he has at the end of the film! Lookit!

Toys R Us is getting an influx of Creepy Subway Ghosts and happy dancing Statue of Liberties!

In our Wave 4, we made some important characters!

Ghostbusters 2 Peter and Slimer
Ghostbusters 2 Slimer Blower Ray and Theatre Ghost

And the exclusives:

New York City Mayor and the Subway Ghost
Possessed Janosz and the Statue of Liberty

Perfect gifts for those living in NYC, just to remind them of this Ghostbuster quote:

“You know how much negative energy would be necessary to generate a flow this size?” – Egon
“New York – what a town, huh?” -Winston

Toys R Us taking pre-orders on new exclusives – pics!

Toys R Us has listed their Series 4 exclusive Ghostbusters Minimates – the four pairs are $6.99 each and (you might want to sit down) will be released July 15th, 2010 (bit of a wait.) These sets include;

Janosz and Statue of Liberty
Mayor Lenny and Subway Ghost
GB2 Venkmen and Slimer
GB2 Ray (with Slimer Blower) and Theater Ghost

The third series is due out any time now. Big ups to the gang at GBFans for spotting this one.

Original Kenner RGB figures

Thanks to Kevin for the heads up.

Also, speaking of Mattel, MattyCollector.com has had their Slimed Venkman listed updated for awhile now, including pics and a sale date;

Welcome to Hotel Sedgewick, where it’s slime time all the time! Our 6” Movie Masters™ version of Ghostbusters™ team member Peter Venkman™ may be equipped with his proton pack, but the accompanying Slimer™ figure isn’t exactly trembling with fear. The fully-articulated Venkman wears gloves and his pants are untucked from his boots, just like in the classic scene where the paranormalist bemoans “He slimed me!”

Available June 15, 2010, only at MattyCollector.com.

Cost? $20! And given how quickly 12″ Venkman went, you might want to plan early for this one. Thanks to Joseph for the link. Head to MattyCollector.com for all the pictures.

Art Asylum reveals Series 3 Minimates box and Neon details

Art Asylum put out some details for fans of their Ghostbusters products. First up, they posted a blurb about the neon sign they revealed at the New York Toy Fair. The new information is that the sign will come with a variable voltage setting, allowing fans from around the world to enjoy the sign;

It seems like everyone is getting into neon signs these days. I’m not entirely sure when the trend kicked in, but seeing as how I have a license that was born for neon, I’m jumpin’ on the bandwagon. This little beauty is going to be about 12″ wide and roughly 15″ tall in the base. You’re seeing a prototype, so the base may look a bit different in production, but the logo is final. The coolest thing about this is that it will come with a auto voltage switch (probably not the technical term, but whatever). That means international customers and internet retailers are going to LOVE this item because, unlike most electronic items, you do NOT have to worry about different versions for different countries. Yeah, it makes it a hair more expensive to make them that way, but in the long run we think it is worth it.

The company also posted photos of the upcoming/late Minimates series 3 set;
