Digital Ghostbusters screenings in Toronto!

Cineplex Odeon is presenting the The Great Digital Film Festival this week and next and will be screening Ghostbusters twice as part of the fest. The festival, as the name suggests, is digital or HD screenings in a top-tier theatre setting – I’m assuming this means they will be screening the Blu-ray, but I have no confirmation on that. Still, Ghostbusters on the big screen with a crowd is always a blast, even if it’s a crappy old VHS copy.

Saturday Feb 6 – 6:30pm
Thursday Feb 11 – 2:00PM

Scotiabank Theatre Toronto located at 259 Richmond Street W.

Advance tickets are now available online at as well as at participating theatre box offices. General admission is only $5.00. For a double feature, admission is $9.00, five movies are $22.00, 10 movies are $42.50 and for a full week pass (all 20 movies) admission is $80.00.

For the full festival listings, head here. Thanks to Brian for the heads up!

Limited edition iLTHY tees on sale now

Forget ask if it’s the shoes – is it the t-shirt?

Named, unsurprisingly, the iTHLY Bustas 2010 collection, these limited run tee shirts are designed to take the classic Ghostbusters logo, match it with 11 NBA teams (I’m assuming the ones headed into the playoffs – I dunno, I follow hockey), and then sell it to either gotta-have-it-all team fans, or gonna-mock-you-with-it fans from other teams (and, presumably, Ghostbusters fans who like Basketball.) The shirts went on sale last week, they are a limited initial run, and they are $29.99 plus $7 postage and handling (ouch!)

Ecto-1 Hot Wheels pour onto eBay – packaging revealed [UPDATE]

Well, someone out there is getting their hands on the Hot Wheels Ecto-1 – sadly it appears to be eBay resellers and scruples-free Wal-Mart employees. I’m not going to advocate people use eBay unless they’re desperate, but at the very least it provides us with a nice look at the car’s packaging.

Turns out some locations have variant packaging – which means you have two to watch out for. However, Hot Wheels tends to space their releases through the year, so it’s apparently possible for some locations to not see it for awhile yet. On top of that, it’s one per box… eBay is starting to look good after all.

Springfield Punx 2: Wallpaper Time!

It’s Wallpaper Monday!

There’s no such thing as Wallpaper Monday. But if there were, then this would be one of the best Wallpaper Monday’s in awhile (and there have been some great not-Wallpaper Mondays.)

Do you remember Springfield Punx, where the owner draws various non-Simpson’s characters as if they were from that cartoon show? And how he went on a Ghostbusters bender last year? Chris Morrell was inspired to repaint those figures and put them in a Simpsonized Ghostbusters 2 poster – Dean, owner and artist at Springfield Punx, liked it so much, he helped touch up the poster and is now offering it as a wallpaper on his site! Nice work, Chris!

Head on over to Springfield Punx for the full wallpaper image, and Happy Wallpaper Monday everyone (there’s no such thing – I don’t know why I said that.)
