Jason K, at the GBFans messageboard, posted these two videos of a fan talking to Ghostbusters 1 & 2 producer, Michael C Gross, outside Mattel’s booth at the San Diego Comic Con, next to the restored Ecto-1. A real and genuinely interesting rarity to get to hear Mr. Gross talk about the films he helped shepherd into being.
Matty Collector puts exclusive Retro Active Venkman up for sale online
If you didn’t attend SDCC, or would like another crack at getting a Citizen Ghost spectral Peter, you soon can from the comfort of home. Matty Collector has posted the Comic Con exclusive figure at their online store for $20, but you can’t actually buy until August 2nd.

Mattel PKE meter – in action!
The Southern California Ghostbusters and Arizona Ghostbusters have posted a clip of Mattel’s PKE meter in action – I honestly thought we were just seeing a prototype shell, but the booth attendants can be seen here, operating the PKE meter. Multiple controls allow the user to “fake” a reading, but operating the wings as well as speeding up the lights and sounds.

Mattypalooza, a Mattel specific panel to show off what they’ve got coming next for all their licensed toy lines, was today and video have started appearing online. This one is the clip that features the Ghostbusters license and their reveals for the upcoming year;

Mattel rolled out prototypes of 6″ (5.5″ in reality) Louis, Courtroom Peter, as well as sweet accessories coming with future releases of 12″ figs (most likely the ones they said they’re re-release – the cool new accessories explain how they’re going to make them attractive to collectors who bought the first figs) – GB1 and GB2 jumpsuits, road-work/subway exploring gear, SLIMER THROWERS, TERROR DOGS,cameras, boomboxes, DANCING TOASTERS, and more!
I just realized, the Terror Dog head is not for a figure, but is the statue “Who turned out the lights” head piece for Louis. Bloody hell.
Nothing is too arcane for the accessories, as they’re even showing off the prototype of what looks like Ray and Egon’s glass jar of pop-corn from the interview with Dana.
12" Winston accessories rock! First three to be re-released!
Nomadixxx’s great Flickr gallery revealed some amazing details of the soon to be released (August 16th) 12″ Movie Masters Winston Zeddemore – besides an amazing looking, 1984 era Ernie Hudson, the figure comes with a pair of ungloved hands, a newspaper with the Ghostbusters job-listing circled, AND the very, very strange blueprints for the structural ironwork for Dana’s apartment building!
And as a bonus, the display confirms that Ray, Peter, and Egon will be re-released at a date to be decided! Whoo!
