Last of the Rock Homage IDW Ghostbusters covers revealed.

Nick Runge has posted the art for the fourth and last of the rock album inspired alternate covers for IDW’s monthly Ghostbusters comic series (starting next month!). The first was KISS, the second and third were The Beatles and Queen respectively, and the final album cover homage is U2’s Joshua Tree. Check out Nick’s post on the cover (including a look at its final layout and colour tweaks) on his website.

First look at Terror Dog lamp lit up!

Curious what the Terror Dog lamp from Diamond Select will look like when lit up? Yeah, you’re not alone on that one – every since it first appeared at the San Diego Comic Con last month, a lot of people were thinking, “So… how’s that going to work?” It’s not readily apparently where the lamp part comes in. Well, Art Asylum have posted some pics of the doggy lamp, including an unpainted test sculpt AND the dog lit up. Obviously, as with the Stay Puft lamp, it’s not a reading light – more of a demented / awesome night light.

Holidays are comin’! First look at Hallmark Stay-Puft and new Halloween card!

First up, Geek Mom got her hands on the Hallmark 2011 holiday sneak peeks, a catalog of upcoming holiday items of note for collectors. I do love this year’s Back to the Future DeLorean, and it’s hard to beat the singing Ecto from previous years, but the Mr. Stay Puft ornament is going to be THE Christmas wish boutique item this year.

The bad news? This little fella doesn’t come out until 2012! So obviously, no details on price yet.

But don’t fret – here’s something you can get at Hallmark stores RIGHT NOW! A new Ghostbusters Halloween card – big thanks to Brian for sending in the pictures. I’m trying to get more details – it looks like it plays music, which would fit, as they’ve licensed the music, having used it in the Ecto ornament and previous Halloween cards. There’s even a single fold version you can buy online, which has the music and sells for $5.99. Better yet, you can personalize it! I have no confirmed price on the double fold card. Stay tuned! Brian says the card he bought was $5.99 as well and does play the music! Thanks, Brian!

Chicago-style Ecto-Cooler makes it big on Internets

If you follow PC on Facebook, you’ll recall awhile back we posted a link to Dan Shannon, of the Chicago Division Ghostbusters, and his as-good-as recreation recipe for Ecto-Cooler. Well, that recipe is getting a lot of attention lately.

For starters, the CDGB’s posted a video how-to on the drink, which ended up on Fark, which in turn put it basically on everyone general interest pop culture webblog out there.

Earlier in the week, Dan sent in this clip of Brad Jones of Cinema Snobs trying their recipe out at Flashback Weekend.

What can I tell you – more and more the verdict on the recipe is coming in as “Holy crap, that’s perfect!” So, try it out for yourself before the Summer weather packs it in entirely.
